7、architectura means the art of designing and constructing a building.Starting from the point of both definitions,narrative architecture means the design of buildings to tell a story.The architecture of our project for Dong Pai Lou tells a story without text,but through geometrical form,space,and mate
8、rials.As individuals we are composed of what we remember,an aspect of this condition is translated into our project for Dong Pai Lou as the inherited poetic memory of Changsha,a redolent mixture of memory and modern architecture that will meet the demand for better quality urban realm and public spa
9、ce that at the same time considers important human needs and values and their relationship to the dynamic and progressive growth culture of modern China.Architecture is an art that organises and establishes relationships between the parts and the whole,the notion of designing spaces,which we experie
10、nce through movement and use,ordering of the spatial and social narrative is fundamental to the shaping of this project for Dong Pai Lou.The building forms have been shaped and positioned allied to how they will be used and perceived from the city,we have examined and explored the ways in which the
11、three dimensions of the journey through the proposed development interacts with the public and its importance to the generation of a new cultural and social heart for the centre of Changsha.Dong Pai Luo will be the embodiment of a new Changsha urban culture where business,retail and leisure and educ
12、ation combine to create a new inner city quarter that communicates how the people of Changsa can attain a new relationship to urban life,nature,and spirituality that ebodies an essence of their history.The history of Changsha offers innumerable examples of places which embed and narrate a story thro
13、ugh their spatial layout and their relationship to nature.By looking at historical drawings of buildings of the Hunan province we understand how spatial control and a relationship to the natural environment have transmitted messages through the centuries.This message is about rethinking the urban co
14、ndition for the betterment of the Changsha residents,it is in line with the city planning policy of the resonance of the four elements that embrace the city“mountain,river,island and city”In the last decades,the architectural landscape of the contemporary Changsha city has been undergone a profound
15、transformation,our project for Dong Pai Luo refocuses this transformation away from the car and the fast lane boulevards and back to the individual and their relationship to a new green city.IntroductionOur vision for Dong Pai Lou is to transform this strategically important site into a world class
16、asset for the people of Changsha.It will attract the public,residents and businesses through the natural asset of a significant public park,diversity of cultural offers and exciting venues creating a vibrant community for both the neighborhood and the city.Our design creates a holistic and integrate

18、牌楼的故事story在拉丁语里,“narrativus”的意思是指“讲述一个故事”在16世纪中期,拉丁语里面的“建筑”是指设计和建造的艺术。根据以上两个定义,“叙事建筑”意味着通过设计和建造建筑来讲述一个故事。正如我司为东牌楼所设计的建筑,我们不用文字,而利用几何,图案,空间和材料等来给人们讲述一个故事。记忆是构成我们个体的一部分。这个承载了长沙文化意诗意的记忆透过我们的设计融入了东牌楼项目,见证了历史的变迁,体现了与现代的融合,在当代中国的经济和文化持续发展的过程中,东牌楼的设计建筑将始终与城市的发展有机结合在一起,给人们带来更好的服务和更高的生活质量。建筑是一门艺术,将整体和部分建立各种联
19、系关系组合在一起。空间设计的本质,是通过对空间的使用和体验,各种空间的排序和社会叙事,为东牌楼设计项目的基础概念。建筑设计的形体和位置根据建筑的功能和从城市对基地的感知而组织。我们探索并且研究了各种可能的发展,从三维方向体现这些发展与公共空间的相互影响和东牌楼成为长沙新一代文化和社会中心的重要性。东牌楼将会成为体现长沙新城市文化的地标场所,集经济,商业,休闲,文化为一体,成为城市的新一角。在这里,长沙人民可以尽情地交流和体验新的城市生活,同时延续和传承长沙的历史精髓。长沙在历史演变的中,有大量的建筑,通过空间布局和与自然的联系,体现和叙述着长沙的历史文化故事。我们从湖南省建筑的历史图画可以看到
20、,这些建筑们通过空间的布局控制和与自然环境的联系向人们传达着信息,并且贯穿于世纪的交替变迁。这个信息是为了表达我们对城市生活条件的重新审视,以提供给长沙市民更好更优质的生活。更为了体现了长沙市城市规划中的四个要素“山,水,洲,城”的设计理念。在过去的数十年里,长沙市的建筑景观经历了很大的变革。我们对于东牌楼的规划设计重新聚焦回到变革之前,远离汽车和城市快道,回归人类与大自然的接触。故事9A diverse spectrum of city lifeThe essence of our proposal is to create an extraordinary new destination,
21、a unique city quarter unlike any other development in Changsha,the developments Central Park is central to the overall ambition.The architectural language of the proposal is driven by the notion of legibility and familiarity,a pattern of streets and squares that are varied,comfortable,sustainable,su
22、rprising and exciting for visitors,retailers and residents.Our proposal provides above all else a human scale to this expansive development.The scale issue is of primary concern,particularly when our ambition is to make places that are comfortable,varied and convivial that people will gravitate to a
23、nd make them feel happy.Our concept is based on an understanding and memory of the old Changsha urban pattern of safe human scale commercial and residential streets.Our plan seeks to capture the spirit of the human relationships that prevailed in this type of community and use it at Dong Pai Lou as
24、a new model for Changsha urban development.Close neighborhood relationships which are evident in the old streets of Changsha,here people met together and were closely associated in a diversified and complicated living environment,there was a sense of locality,of place,uniqueness,safety and community
25、.Activities were spontaneous unlike the spaces created in the more contemporary mechanical notions of urban planning.Our ambition is to capture the human sensibility and quality of the old city and bring this to Dong Pai Lou in the most extraordinary way.We have balanced flexible and regular format
26、buildings with more customized buildings that create the more intimate and unique public spaces,the desire is to emulate the variation in scale and quality of spaces found in the historic architecture of Hunan where a sense of civil culture existed because of the diversity and complexity of the town
27、 plan and the architecture that articulated it.This sort of cultural vitality and the mixed user programs proposed for the development will engender a rich and full ambience,in essence a kaleidoscope of Changsha city life.Our proposal characterizes the best of these prototype developments around the

29、dscape and topography of old Changsha,the hills,the greenery,the river and the sand bar are elements that we have integrated into our thought process and story for the development.These elements have become key drivers for the language and scale of the public spaces and are the components that have
30、become the“urban glue”thats holds together the diverse business components of the development.The masterplan begins by tying together the infrastructural and urban context of the surrounding site;notional lines of movement emerging from around the perimeter of the site converge to form new public ro
31、utes and entry points to key building blocks and the central public space,these routes add a new dimension to the existing Changsha city grain and urban fabric.The site lies at the confluence of the old and new city,and sits adjacent to the city planning departments strategic green axis connecting t
32、he metropolitan area of Changsha to the river.We have integrated these important considerations and urban connections into the main longitudinal axis of our proposed masterplan,this axis is a new green ecological corridor,a central park for the development.This Central Park forms the underlying fram
33、ework for the project locally it is a point of respite and relaxation but overall it is our“green sandbar”that links areas of the development together via a tree lined walk connecting areas of higher programmatic intensity as well as the vertical build-up of the Dong Pai Lou urban fabric.In certain
34、areas the“Central Park”rises seamlessly with the of towers to form a vertical extension of the landscape,while in other areas it is inverted to become part of a more dense public centered environment cut through by shopping streets and open animated spaces.东牌楼项目总体规划的概念来源于古长沙美丽富饶的地形地势。那些山丘,绿化,河流,花园洲,

43、estination崭新长沙景点25view towards the central park方案景象Within the Central Park a panoply of events,activities and architecture combine to make a series of varied spaces that respond to the requirements of the brief.Each of these spaces is articulated by its programme be it retail,serviced apartments,hot
44、el or offices.We have tried to make legible these different programmes in bespoke architectural forms.The spaces are interconnected at different levels,at grade via pedestrian walkways/pavements punctuated by event squares and gardens,at the lower ground level by walkways and atria that are lined wi
45、th shops,restaurants and cafes and at first floor by the Central Park.The route through the Central Park continues from an external environment into the covered climatised shopping mall,the theme of the streetscape is continued although the shopping environment of the mall changes to suit its partic
46、ular requirements.The route through the mall is continued at different levels and culminates in two shop lined entry points on Huang Xing Zhong Lu.The scale of the overall development varies from west to east respecting height limitations and set back distances and sunlight requirements on adjacent
47、buildings.The buildings are at their tallest on Huang Xing Zhong Lu and step down towards the east and Cai Er Lu.The variation in scale and form of the buildings facilitates a new city topography with shifting views and perspectives that do not conform to the usual typology of towers sitting on podi
48、ums.The buildings are sculpted and terraced so that the large forms of the towers meet the landscape in a manner that respects human scale.The eye level perspective of people walking past the buildings or through the Central Park is always active and balanced in scale with the individual;the towers

50、整个地块的体型规模从西往东,根据不同的限高,退建距离和日照条件发展变化。建筑在靠黄兴中路最高,向东边和蔡锷路的方向逐渐递减。尺度规模和建筑形态的变化创造出一个景象和视觉也随之变化的新的城市地形,区别于在裙房上面的一般的建筑类型。这些精心雕琢的大楼以阶梯式露台呈现,从尊重人性化的尺度使体型较大的楼宇建筑与地面景观有效融合。如此一来,在楼群和中央公园之间穿梭的人们的视线景象不但生动平衡,楼群也成为了繁忙街景的景观背景。建筑边缘布满了绿化和阳台,给居民营造了一个赏阅无限的空中花园,给游客提供了一个景观平台和目的地,尽享长沙市的都市和湘江美景。露台观景是项目设计中的第五个立面,也是发展中规划设计从远处
